Privacy Policy for Magic Sound Box

I built Magic Sound Box to be simple and private by design.
This app does not collect any personal data. It does not use analytics, tracking or advertising of any kind. There is no account, login or sign up required to use the app.
The app uses your iPhone or Apple Watch's built in motion sensors to detect a swish gesture. This motion data is processed in real time, directly on your device, purely to trigger a sound effect. It is never stored, saved or sent off your device in any way.
Your Sensitivity and Volume settings are saved on your device only, using standard Apple system storage, so they're remembered next time you open the app. This information never leaves your device either.
No information about you or your device is transmitted to me or to any third party.
If this policy ever changes, I'll update this page and note the date above.

Thanks for using Magic Sound Box. Here's exactly how it works, step by step.
How to Play
Tap the "How to Play" button at the top of the app any time for a visual walkthrough showing the swish gesture on both iPhone and Apple Watch.
1. Sensitivity
In Settings, you'll find five buttons, Very Low, Low, Medium, High and Very High. Tap the one that matches how firm you want your gesture to be. Very Low needs a strong, deliberate swish before it triggers. Very High will fire on a much gentler movement. Medium is a good starting point if you're not sure, and you can change it any time.
2. Volume
Also in Settings, there's a Volume slider. This controls the app's own output level. Because the sound effects are short, it's genuinely hard to adjust volume mid effect, so I'd recommend setting this once before your show rather than trying to change it live. You can also use your device's own volume control at any time, and this works alongside the in app volume.
3. Performing
Tap or swipe to the sound you want, then give your device a firm swish, either upward or downward. The sound plays straight away.
iPhone and Apple Watch
The app works the same way on both. Use whichever suits your act, the Watch for a discreet, hands free gesture, or the iPhone if you want the sound source visibly in hand. Both use the same sound library and the same settings pattern.
Sound library
There are over 20 sounds built in, covering clean magic effects, performer staples like drum roll and fanfare, comedy sounds and a couple of nostalgic extras like an old phone ring.
Something not working?
If it's triggering by accident, go to Settings and lower the Sensitivity a notch or two. If it's not triggering easily enough, raise it instead. Most people find their comfortable setting within a swish or two.
